Hampton Edward Boggs (17 August 1921, Garvin, Oklahoma - 31 January 1953, Truax Field, Wisconsin) was the United States 2nd highest scoring air ace with the 459th Fighter Squadron, 80th Fighter Group during the China - Burma - India (CBI) campaign during World War II and served as a pilot during the Korean War. On this date in aerial combat, Captain Boggs shot down three enemy aircraft in a single mission.
